    1. Is it true that we can get a PR once we have graduated our master’s degree from Canadian university? How about long distance study?

    2. Would there be any help to find us jobs since most people find immigrating as difficult since we have to find jobs before moving.

    3. Are you representing Canada immigration department or just an individual who so happened to have a blog.

PS-Please reply question in this blog or e-mail me at whjayg@msn.com. Most people like to answer questions I gave them in my blog which the topic has no relation with my question.

    Thanks.

    Hello Jay,

    1. Yes, you can obtain your PR after applying as everybody. By obtaining a Master’s Degree from a Canadian University you won’t get a PR automatically. In fact, you need to apply under the same regulations. Of course, you will have several advantages on your application process.

If you apply as a Skilled Worker, there are minimum application requirements and selection factors. All applications are assessed on six selection factors and a points system. The six selection factors are: Education, official languages, experience, age, arranged exployment in canada and adaptability. The pass mark is 67. For more information, visit: selection factorsWith a Master’s Degree from a Canadian University, you will get the maximum points under education, official languages and adaptability selection factors. This situation will increase your chances of obtaining your permanent resident status.

On the other hand, with an online Degree you will only get the maximum points under the education selection factor, because you have not lived in Canada and there is no proof that you possess advanced English skills.

    2. It’s very hard but not impossible to find a job while you are abroad. There are two scenarios. First scenario: A company is sponsoring you, then you need to apply for a Work Visa. For a work visa, you need a valid job offer from an employer. The obstacles for this type of application are: Find the job offer, the employer has to pay for all the expenses and the application fees. Second scenario: You already have your PR and got a job from an employer. This situation is easier but like i said, it’s difficult to get a job while you are abroad (but not impossible).

There are plenty of organizations established in Canada to help new immigrants to find a job. Their services are free of charge. But the basic rule based on my personal experience is that you need to have a good level of English (conversational skills) in order to land a job. That’s my first advice: Bring the best English skills you can. By having a good and clean English, your chances for geeting a job increase by 75%.

    3. No, I’m an immigrant who did more than 2 years of research on the immigration subject. I’d talked to layers, immigration consultants, assisted to seminars and at the end, I successfully made the PR application processs by myself.

Right now, I have an immigration consulting business in order to help new applicants from the begining of the application to the final establishment stage (landing, housing, schools, help to find a job and documentation). I offer a complete service, something that the average consultants and lawyers don’t do.

Thanks for your comments and good luck !

Thanks for the info. It helps a lot. Anyway, it is pretty much difficult for me as I do not have any job offers in Canada – I don’t know how to apply from my country.

Perhaps I should talk to people in Canada embassy about this.

    Anyway, I appreciate your reply.
