I apologize to everyone. Lately, many things have happened to me, good things of course. One of them took place last Monday, I had my citizenship test. It is incredible to see that 3 years have passed so fast. During all this time, after reading tons of information, finally we have reached our goal. It is an AWESOME feeling. Thanks everyone!

As I mentioned in one of my past posts, I’m planning a Second Coming in order to help people immigrate to Canada successfully and BTW, making use of the Internet as an information resource.

Congratulations, for sure that sense of acomplishment is taking in…..kudos to you.

Any tips on how I can enhance my chances to obtain my residency visas within 18 months after the submission of my application? I am about to apply as a Skilled Worker and I’m doing it my self, however, I want my first strike to be it and jump a few rows in front of the line…….1 to 5 years of waiting seems to me an eternity. Any pointers sure will be appreciated, thanks and the best for you

    Hi HTN,

Are you going to apply through the Federal or Provincial (Quebec) program?

Option a) – Federal Nomination: Pay extra attention when filling the forms up. An error could delay the process up to 3 months. Additionally, if you live in a non-speaking country, I would recommend to write the IELTS exam in advance and send the results altogether. Also, if you have lived in Canada/US, try to send the criminal/fingerprint clearance in case they request so. Those two thing, can get you 6 months in advance.

Option b) – Quebec: You won’t need the IELTS scores but the DELF/DALF tests. This guarantee that you are certified in French language skills. Keep the criminal clarances in case you have lived in Canada or US (you will need those when applying to the Federal).

In my case, Quebec application process worked smoothly and it took us 1 year exactly. Currently, I think both processes are prety much the same because if the high demand. I would suggest you to go on the Federal process and take those advices as my graint of salt ;) Good luck!
