It will be updated regularly as more PS4 secrets are uncovered in the public, so visit often for the latest scoop. Please link to this webpage, rather than copy the contents. If you have a secret, you can leave a forum message at: PS4 Discussion Forum. Because the PS4 can run PS3 games (in High Definition, not Standard Definition mode like NTSC and PAL), you should visit the PS3 Secrets webpage for PS3 specific information.

Canadians getting ripped off? iPhone 3G plans lack unlimited data

Canadian iPhone 3G plans lack unlimited data

Canadian iPhone 3G plans lack unlimited data | Crave, the gadget blog - CNET

This is really OUTRAGEOUS!

Friday, Rogers announced its service plans for the iPhone 3G, none of which include unlimited data use. Instead, Rogers will cap data each month at a certain amount, which will range from 400MB for the cheapest serve plan ($60 Canadian or $59.23 U.S.) to 2GB for the most expensive plan ($115 Canadian or $113.64 U.S.).

What’s more, the data restrictions aren’t the half of it. While AT&T’s cheapest iPhone 3G service plan ($69 per month) includes 450 anytime minutes, the cheapest Rogers plan (the one with 400MB of data) only gets 150 anytime minutes. Ouch. Similarly Rogers’ most expensive plan includes only 800 anytime minutes while AT&T’s priciest plan ($129 per month) includes unlimited anytime minutes. Double ouch.

Come on, Rogers, you have to give a little more. Especially when your contracts run three years.

Wirewize tells you how to wire your entertainment center

A new site, Wirewize, tells you how to connect the gizmos in your home entertainment center. You tell it what you have, and it tells you which cables you need and then, very specifically, where to plug them.

It’s a great idea, since most entertainment systems are unique in one way or another, and the manuals that come with AV gear rarely cover all the bases, not to mention that they’re written at varying levels of clarity. To remind you of that, the service also provides the PDF manuals for your products.

PES 2009 announced, but what about FIFA 09?

UPDATE!

GamePlayer Australia wrote a really good comparison including images of each game. Take a look >>>

————–

Konami has just announced that they will be releasing Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (PES 2009) this fall. It seems that they are working to regain first place - unexpectedly taken by the FIFA latest series.

But not so fast, this time is going to be a close fight because EA with its FIFA 09 is looking to become one of the most anticipated soccer games. I know a lot of people is going to trash what I’m saying but for no one is a secret that the latest PES game was a totally disappointment.

I’ve just created a small comparison of the new features to be included in each game:

FIFA 09

PES 09

- Improved physics system. FIFA 09 has an improved physics system which
affects both players and the football itself allowing for beautiful, powerful
and devastating shots and unprecedented levels of realism during a match.

- Improved animation system. The brilliant animation system seen in FIFA
08 is improved upon to include hundreds of new animations for players that
further add to the simulation feel of the game.

- New player faces. 3D player modeling is vastly improved and now offers
unbelievable similarities to the real life counterparts.

- Increased response times and game speed. Player response times have been
increased to increase the flow of the game as in real life, while game speed
has been tweaked from FIFA 08.

- New additions include that will further bridge the gap between
PES and the real thing.

According to Konami:

- ‘The new game has undergone a stunning graphical update to ensure its
players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts.

- ‘Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own
tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online
elements will further the realism of the new game.’

- “We are committed to extending the realism of the new game with a wealth of
key gameplay additions, and will produce a football title that truly embodies
all the skill and pace that is good about the modern game.”

Intel Centrino 2 hit the stores

(Source: Crave.cnet.com)

Intel’s upcoming mobile processors are making a sneak preview at resellers. Though the initial roll-out of the Intel “Montevina” Centrino 2 mobile platform was scaled back by Intel last month, processors are still slated for July 14.

Last month, Intel said that only “processors and some of the chipsets” will be available initially. Technical and certification issues with Intel’s integrated graphics and Wi-Fi silicon, respectively, will delay other Montevina silicon.

The delayed silicon includes the “GM” chipset that includes Intel integrated graphics. This will be released in early August. WiMax silicon is also slated to come out later, though Intel is not saying when exactly.

But mainstream processors are expected to appear on schedule.

The 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo T9600 can be found at select resellers. This 45-nanometer processor has 6MB of cache memory and a 1066MHz front-side-bus (FSB), beating the current crop of processors that have an 800MHz FSB. The front-side bus carries data between the processor and the chipset.

This part will become Intel’s fastest mainstream (non-Extreme) Core 2 Duo mobile chip. Pricing ranges between $570 and $615 at resellers. Intel list prices will be different.

Simply AMAZING! - Martian Sky Pictures

(Source: Boston.com)

Yesterday’s announcement by NASA of the discovery of water ice on Mars by its Phoenix Lander probe made big news everywhere. The discovery involved the observation of water ice sublimating into the air - that is, the water went from solid to vapor state without reaching the liquid stage. The Martian atmosphere has perfect conditions for sublimation - extremely thin, dry and cold. How cold? Well, you can check the Live Martian Weather Report, with data from a station on board the Phoenix Lander. Today will see a high temperature of a toasty -26 degrees F.

What more do we know about Mars’ atmosphere? It’s hundreds of times thinner than Earth’s atmosphere and is made of 95% carbon dioxide, 3% nitrogen, 1.6% argon, and contains traces of oxygen, water, and methane. We also know, from observations that it can support dust storms, dust devils, clouds and gusty winds. With an amazing number of six current live probes exploring Mars (two rovers, a lander, and three orbiters), there are many thousands of images available. Only a few, however show atmospheric phenomena. Presented here are some of the best images of Martian atmosphere (and beyond) in action.

New Dell Mini PC: Studio Hybrid

(From Engadget and Crave)

Looks like word got out early
on Dell’s Studio Hybrid small form factor system. Aside from the casing and the stand, both of which are removable, it’s roughly the same size as Apple’s Mac Mini. In addition to forgoing the eco-friendly wood for what appears to be a sleek, orange Plexiglas shell, the system boasts an Intel chipset, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, WiFi, a DVD+R drive, five USB ports, an HDMI port, S/PDIF, DVI, and a memory card reader. I’m not sure exactly when Dell plans to unleash these on consumers or what the final cost will be, though previously the company had stated plans to offer it later this year for between $500 and $700.

The Dell Studio Hybrid, coming soon.
