Is Facebook getting too dangerous?
The latest changes around Facebook’s policies and now some malicious Facebook applications “stealing” and “sharing” user data made us formulate this question: Is Facebook getting too dangerous?
According to the Arstechnica site, it seem quite obvious that there are serious issues:
“Two malicious Facebook applications were caught scraping user data and spreading virally. The apps were quickly squashed, but the incident is raising new questions about the effectiveness of Facebook’s open-door developer requirements.
It’s all fun and games in social networking—until Facebook users’ personal data starts getting ripped off. A couple of malicious applications in the last week were briefly able to dupe users into helping them to spread virally, bringing Facebook’s low barriers for development entry and reactive vetting policies into question.”
