Judging from the WWDC 09 “surprises”, it seems that the company suffers from the Jobs-less syndrome. In my humble opinion, the absence of Steve on the WWDC 09 was due to:
1) Jobs is dead or has serious health conditions, which could have prevented him from “putting together” a serious Apple Conference Show plagued with repetitive subjects and full of glitches. There was a really good phrase on one of the blogs following the event stating: “Somewhere Steve Jobs is shaking his fist in anger”.
2) He is working on a “super duper” project (a Mac Tablet?) or something like it that is keeping him busy and just waiting the perfect timing to show off.
Whatever reason, one thing is for sure – all Apple fans and investors should be really worried of these signals, which corroborate what many experts have said in the past: “Sometimes, having the best Captain is not enough to keep the boat safe”
