<p>According to the <a href="http://arstechnica.com/web/news/2009/03/rogue-apps-raise-concerns-over-facebooks-reactive-policies.ars" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/arstechnica.com/web/news/2009/03/rogue-apps-raise-concerns-over-facebooks-reactive-policies.ars?referer=');">Arstechnica</a> site, it seem quite obvious that there are serious issues:</p>
<p><span style="font-style: italic;">&#8220;Two malicious Facebook applications were caught scraping user data and spreading virally. The apps were quickly squashed, but the incident is raising new questions about the effectiveness of Facebook&#8217;s open-door developer requirements. </span><br style="font-style: italic;" /><br style="font-style: italic;" /><span style="font-style: italic;">It&#8217;s all fun and games in social networking—until Facebook users&#8217; personal data starts getting ripped off. A couple of malicious applications in the last week were briefly able to dupe users into helping them to spread virally, bringing Facebook&#8217;s low barriers for development entry and reactive vetting policies into question.&#8221;</span></p>
